Alter_
On these forums it states to gain mpg go with a lightened crank pulley. I read that this can throw off the balance of the motor. Are the subarus really affected by this or can I strap on this light weight crank pulley call it a day and enjoy a bit more out of my engine? Kennyfvholla
Yeah, plenty of people have installed LW pulleys on their Subaru's to no ill effects.

You will almost definitely NOT notice any difference with a lightweight crank pulley. twisty
the only thing ive noticed with past engines was the idle drops faster. im not sure how much that will factor in, since the main pulley isnt nearly as heavy as those old HBs.
Sludgeroo
I pulled my whole a/c system out. Runs like a champ, prevents the clutch in the compressor from going bad and wont seize that belt if its not on there
WESTcoast
The only pulleys to watch out for are underdriven pulleys, they are suppose to be smaller than the original which can cause some issues from what i heard.
Kennyfvholla
Underdrive pulleys are actually bigger so they are not focred to spin a particular accessory as much, so less it takes less power from the engine to turn them.
