GEE-OTTO
So i noticed lately that after my car is warmed up and im in city traffic or jsut driving around in short stretches that my idle will drop then rise to about 1500 then settle at the stock idle speed, whenever i push in the clutch. Sometimes it will drop, rise, drop, rise then settle. This afternoon ill check all the vacuum connections. If all looks good. ill go after the IACV. What should I use to clean the IACV: brake cleaner, MAF cleaner , small wire brush? If after the IACV has been cleaned and this continues what would be the likely culprit? Osei
To me simpler than seafoaming ( which some recommend ), I disassemble the unit. The screws are soft brass, so following a poster on USMB, I replaced the metal housing screws with 8mm cap head and the plastic housing ones with 5mm cap heads. Previous attempts with brake cleaner and gas w/o complete disassembly did not work for me. The metal wheel was caked up and would not move by magnetic field. O.
