I Donated broknindarkagain Posted June 24, 2012 I Donated Share Posted June 24, 2012 That looks like the Rustoleum Alloy colored wheel spray paint. Am I right? Either way, great job on it. SBT
Nice job on the paint. What did you do for pre-paint prep? Sand/bead blast, wirebrush, what? Came out nice. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -
JJay03
Thanks, I sandblasted it first im going to do the brackets next. I used a paint from Eastwood.co called Aluma Blast seems to have the closest look to raw aluminum.

JJay03
I noticed the new water pump gasket is metal has anyone used one of these yet. I just hope it seals good with no sealant. I got most of the block cleaned up today and working on painting some small parts. I picked up my injectors yesterday and a bunch of new bolts from the dealer including head bolts. JJay03
I was checking the valve clearances. If I have one that is too loose and one that is too tight both on the intake would it hurt to try and swap them round? Just not sure if it would be a good idea or not. JJay03
I think I might just take the heads back to the machine shop and get a valve job while they are off.

JJay03
I measured the valve lash and the thickness of the shims. The hardest part is using the feeler gauges and deciding where you think it is by the feel. Mine went from .178 to .203 some felt like they fell in between so ill have to use some good judgement. Going to order some shims tomorrow.
