bguy5
I was wondering if it would be safe for me to put an intake on my legacy 2.5gt? or will it fool up the way the turbo recirculates back into the manifold
scoobydoobie
Everyone is gonna tell you that its useless until you make big power (i.e. upgraded turbo). It will throw your MAF reading off and requires a tune. Basically its a sound-only mod for us until stage 3. That being said, I'm stage 2 and enjoy the added BPV/turbo noise my AEM provides. No DRFT
Yes it will fool it up real good. Just get an aftermarket panel filter and call it a day. I have no control over drippie.
dr_sharp
The only real reason to get an intake is because your stock airbox no longer fits properly after you ran your FMIC piping straight through it. lol
StoplightAssassin
It should be pretty safe to put it on. I usually like to wear mechanix gloves when I work on my cars so I don't bust my knuckles.
Max Capacity
The general rule is stay stock until you go FMIC as said above. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. LosAngelesLGT
Not ony will an intake NOT do anything for you, its likely to do BAD things to your car. Not joking. No smiley face.

mumblinaviator
It's a cheap and easy mod = hence why most people jump at it too early... If you're dead set on getting one, safest approach is to install it during a Stage 2 or Stage 3 build and ensure that it's accounted for in the tune. LosAngelesLGT
I thought people jump at it because they are too lazy to do the research that tells them that it will not only not help our cars (unless high hp/fmic) but may actually hurt them (without a tune)

boostedgrocerygetter
If your that set on getting one go with the cobb intake as long as you have an ap already. They released new maps to adjust the Maf. As you can see in their map notes though there are NO hp gains by adding the intake stg 1 or stg 2.
