NealB
I have a 5 speed 97' Legacy, and when I put it in gear there's still a lot of play, almost like it was in neutral. It's also difficult to find 3rd going from 2nd does any one have any idea whats up? My friend said he could make me this metal pushing that should help it do you guys think that would work? I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 23, 2012 I Donated Share Posted May 23, 2012 What is a metal pushing? There is a shift linkage joint that likely needs to be replaced. Its a pain to do unless you're experienced working on cars. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Zues Marine
could always go with a short shifter/ bushing kit too
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 24, 2012 I Donated Share Posted May 24, 2012 The bushings don't fix the problem he is having. Its located on the shift linkage and it costs about $75 from the dealership. You as well need to buy a spring pin and that costs $2 from the dealer. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." SpecBamf41
Mine also has a lot of play while in gear even with metal bushings. Its simply just how long the shift linkage is that allows the play. I don't think its the part that come out of the trans. Sent from my Galaxy Tab using TapaTalk 2 BNR18g on 93oct
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 26, 2012 I Donated Share Posted May 26, 2012 After all new bushings and a new linkage joint, mine had almost no play in it. It was only very minor -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
