stevenva
About a year ago I had H&R springs and KYB struts installed. Starting about a month ago I started hearing metal on metal squeaking coming from the rear suspension. Now it's so bad that any movement on the rear causes loud squeaking. (insertjokehere) I am thinking it is bad or missing spring insulators. Has anybody else had this happen. Can they be replaced without removing the strut by just using a spring compressor. stevenva
Looks that way. I called H&R tech this afternoon and he said that a properly installed spring does not require any rubber spring insulators. I looked at the exploded view of the rear factory strut setup on Alldata today at work. It has spring insulators at both the top and bottom of the spring. After telling the H&R tech guy that, he said they should have transferred them to the new setup. (?) I have not looked yet but I expect that they just tossed the old strut assemblies, with the insulators still on them.
