dan04103
Did this upgrade to my 3.0 a few days ago with oem front rear calipers, stoptech blanks, and stoptech pads. In a word... nice! Much much better. Love having rear vented too. This upgrade might be my favorite mod to date. Even fills out the 17s nicely. Highly recommended for outback owners. I really shake my head at some of the shortcuts Subaru took with the outback. Shameful Subaru shameful. tLewis7
~ Just to be clear. I do NOT need to change the OBXT mounting brackets to the LGT mounting brackets? ~ Just bolt up the LGT calipers to the OBXT mounts, green pad or turn the used LGT rotors, upgrade pads/lines, bleed and bed in? Thanks
Moderators BarManBean Posted October 15, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 15, 2014 yes. LGT calipers will bolt right up. Edit: I was assuming a set of take-offs that would include stock LGT brackets. If JUST the calipers, they may not mount up. Rhitter
yes. LGT calipers will bolt right up. I guess I should check, but I thought the mounting brackets (at least for the front) were difference sizes. The mounting bracket and caliper bolt right up. but I think the bracket is different. But I want to make sure we are talking about the same thing. The bracket is the loose thing right? http://i.imgur.com/xIKuwed.jpg My OBXT build
Moderators BarManBean Posted October 15, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 15, 2014 Sorry, I may have misread the question and you might be right. If ONLY replacing the calipers I'm not sure. I'm just used to seeing calipers/brackets sold as a set. "Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>> Not currently in stock
Rhitter
I think the front bracket needs to be changed as it's sized for a smaller rotor and I think the rear bracket needs to be changed because it's sized for a thinner rotor. I could be wrong though. I remember reading you needed the LGT mounting brackets and calipers but I never verified it when I did the installation. I just changed everything out. Where did you read about this upgrade. My search did not lead me to a post that seemed definitive. Thanks.
Rhitter
Oh I pieced together information from as many threads as I could find from Subaruoutback.org and Legactgt.com. I just searched with Google with the name of the forum and whatever I was looking for. My OBXT build
InTheBay
How much of a difference is there between the XT brakes and the LGT brakes? Here's a couple pics to illustrate, I'm doing the front swap at this very moment. http://photos-a.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xaf1/914757_156911064479280_70712701_n.jpg http://photos-b.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xaf1/10723903_1477727262487481_544024886_n.jpg You'll need the caliper brackets, caliper, pads, and rotors for the swap. That's it.

Will you change out too stainless steel lines? I (and others) would consider this an important piece to any brake upgrade.
InTheBay
I am not, because I cannot locate OBXT specific braided lines, and don't want to purchase lines and have them end up being too short. I am however, measuring them, and will do braided lines DIY when I get some time. Got the brake rotors and caliper brackets mounted last night, see my build thread post here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=42677370&postcount=
