fahr_side Posted April 18, 2012 Share Posted April 18, 2012 The exhaust diameter can taper down at the mufflers because the gas has cooled a lot and flow smoothed out. Cooler gas has less volume. I have a step from 76mm midpipe to 53mm muffler and don't like it. I'm also looking at muffler options. SSpeed Posted April 19, 2012 Author Share Posted April 19, 2012 Just for my reference, AVO Y-pipe outlet - 2.25" ID, 2.4" OD Stock muffler inlet - 1.5" ID, 1.7"OD I think I measured the stock flange at 3.5" OC, but maybe that was the AVO flange.
