m sprank
The engine build is complete and the customer picked up the car today. A very nice FRS back on the road and off to the shows.

m sprank
This 06/07 WRX arrived for some minor work. We immediately noticed the recent brake job (not performed by us). Hmmm... whats wrong with this picture??? Brake rotors appear to be for a Impreza N/A, not a WRX with 4pot//2pot brakes. We will fix this prior to the car leaving for the safety of the customer. m sprank
Spotted "in the wild" by a customer. The shop Forester cruising up the 15N last week. Not too shabby for a 14 year old Subaru. Thanks to Richard for sending the pic!
m sprank
FYI, Precision Turbo "drop in " replacement turbos do require modification of the engine and transmission in order to install. Here is a pic of what must be modified on the bell housing of a 5MT, the block has a corresponding scar as well.
m sprank
Not what you want to find first thing in the morning, cracked heads. I prefer fresh cracked eggs for breakfast. What makes a Subaru a Subaru... I have a long list of items, LOL.
m sprank
Speaking of cracked heads... we are on a roll. All 4 cylinders are cracked at the spark plug hole on these FA20 heads. Reminds me of the old S20 heads. Dont crack your head and have a great weekend.

m sprank
Started a project on a 2012 STi today. Step 1 = chassis bracing. Some progress made. Several Cusco chassis braces installed today. Next up, test fitting the front "bumper" brace with the ETS FMIC core. http://www.infamousperformance.net/storage/20170411_110844.jpg http://www.infamousperformance.net/storage/20170411_110712.jpg
m sprank
Continuing work on the 2012 STi... The Cusco Power Brace Front Member (692 492 FM) fits with the 4" ETS FMIC core. It does not fit (interferes) with the current mounting position of the Perrin oil cooler. What??? 3 different brand aftermarket performance parts dont fit together in the same location??? Deciding if it is worth relocating the oil cooler to allow using the brace. LOTS more to do on this car still so we have a small window of time. m sprank
Another engine build started up today. Hi RPM start up is done. Break in driving begins tomorrow. 06 STi with a FP Black turbo, APS intake and FMIC, built motor with forged internals and more.
m sprank
Started up an 09 Forester XT today after a fresh engine (CP forged pistons) and turbo rebuild (thanks to Pure Turbos!). Break in has begun on this engine. It is "raining motors" at the shop again. Currently working to complete 7 motors (6 Subies and 1 Speed3). m sprank
Installed this "prototype" pulley on a Edlebrock S/C powered BRZ today. Gained 63whp with the pulley change (and the motor to handle the boost), even with the slightly lower Ethanol content today. Thanks to Delicious Tuning for the assistance on the tune. Hope the customer is enjoying the new power bump.
m sprank
Caught this while performing a timing belt replacement. Time for a new cam gear. Another "what makes a Subaru a Subaru" moment.
Rhitter
Ninja eyes to spot that.... Does the chassis bracing make a difference? Mostly with "feel" or is it something that is only really noticed in full race set-ups? My OBXT build
m sprank
If you add one piece at a time, I doubt you would notice the difference. When you combine multiple pieces, it is noticeable under normal driving conditions. My own Forester will 3 wheel over dips even at parking lot speeds (and does so coming into and out of our parking lot every day), LOL. Once you increase the speed it becomes more noticeable. m sprank
Hmmm, this engine shows extreme signs of oil starvation. Heads and cams are junk. Crank, rods, pistons and bearings are junk. Block is junk. Good times. What did all this damage??? Oh, nice oil pump seal job. Poor silicone application just ruined a engine. This will now be the cars third engine (first by us). m sprank
Customer came in saying his tuner can not complete his tune as there is something wrong with his car. First thing we check is his MAF. Quite possibly the dirtiest MAF I have ever seen (on a running car). Clean it and the car now needs a entire new tune.
