nismohrdbody
Does 8.2 to 1 mean you'll hit a valve? For some reason in my mind I thought you had to above 10:1 to hit. going back to what rob said. i thought all subaru motors or at least the lgt was a none interference motor. i remember asking about a month ago, and everyone said it was non interference? PearlBlueGT
It is an interference engine. That's why if your timing belt goes you HAVE to take off your heads and check for bent valves
LegacyMUN2k6
When I did my timing belt job I got 98% of my parts from advanceautoparts using a 40% off coupon code, 1% from autopartswarehouse using 10% off coupon and 1% ebay tensinor was cheaper. I have no probs with my dayco belt and gmb pump and other oem suppliers of pullies.
thisisthenewsic
Once again, that ebay link is the complete gates timing kit that includes all idlers and water pump. Saying to avoid it is like saying don't buy your gates brand timing belt kit from autozone, your engine is at stake. It's a reputable ebay vendor with an asston of positive feedback and a known good kit. It's not some unknown shit from china. Just go for it. For $250 and free shipping, no reason not to. I agree with supporting the vendors here, but when you are on a budget, you do what you gotta do. yeah its a good price. if it is a legit company to buy from then i would say go for it. i was implying not to buy some no name brand kit off ebay for a timing belt kit
AZP Installs
going back to what rob said. i thought all subaru motors or at least the lgt was a none interference motor. i remember asking about a month ago, and everyone said it was non interference? Incorrect. It IS an interference engine and you have a good chance of blowing the motor if your timing belt breaks.... So change it on the proper interval. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
