ACE THIS
Anyone who has the new legacy, could u tell me how she starts under really really cold weather... when i was starting it in my driveway i noticed that it kinda turns over a little slower than my pervious car... any problems. start right away???? Also, does anyone know what numbers subaru puts out of their cars. How many a year sold, etc.?
Martyr
My 05 Legacy seems to start "slower" and with less enthusiasm than did my Acura or Ford cars. My 02 WRX did the same thing, so I just chalked it up as a character trait of the Subaru boxer engine. I've never had it NOT start up after turning over 3-4 times. It could be that your battery was run low on the dealer lot (very common), so you might give your battery a full charge and see if that helps. melayout
Also in the winter, I don't crank it right away after I've entered the key, I turn the key to the ON position, wait for the fuel pressure to build up a lil and for all the electrical components to be charged then I crank and it never failed or took more than usual to start up. franklin
Mine always started but cranked slow. I think the problem is the stock battery 400 CCA Try an Optima group 35 this is 720 CCAmps.

Using some 0-W30 Synthetic Oil should make the engine start easier, plus reduces a lot of wear and tear, which is most significant when starting the engine. http://www.mobil1.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_1_0W-30.aspx Flows at -53F and protects to 400F. franklin
So none of you guys think that the cranking speed/starting would change much between 400 and 720 amps? Its just a Subaru thing right.
Mr. CentralOhioSubarus
Every Subaru I've had does this. I've also never had one fail to start though.
