Master cylinder brace.... But for clutch master cylinder

It seems like the brake mastrer cylinder brace works well. I was thinking that a brace for the clutch would help out as well.

 

I'm not sure if I am the only one with an inconsistant clutch pedal feel. I have bled it numerous times. Tried a SS flex hose instead of rubber (and bled it after the install), pedal height adjustments, and on and on.

 

Bottom line is on my car sometimes I have a good feel, and most times I don't.

 

I'd love to try a brace but one probably doesn't exist, right?

Clutch cylinder brace might be more difficult as there is much less to mount to. As far as I have seen, no one makes one and it is probably due to demand vs cost.

 

I agree clutch pedals can be in consistent but not to the point that they should affect driving. Make sure the master cylinder and slave cylinder are in good shape as they do tend to wear out.

I can't argue with that.

 

But my issue isn't with the clamping force of the clutch, it's with the mostly crunchy/notchiness of my shifting.

 

I believe I have it narrowed down to the hydraulics part of the clutch. I have bled over and over with no change. I have adjusted the pedal to try and find a sweet spot but it's hard.

 

I find if I mash the pedal quick and with a good amount of force it shifts good. This can't be done too fast though. If I push with a good amount of force but at a slow or average speed it's notchy. I was thinking that the pedal assembly was flexing or that maybe installing a brace would strengthen everything up?

 

I have also tried every gear oil out there. I feel as though it's the hydraulics but maybe I'm chasing a ghost.

It's probably because your pressure plate is not releasing completely.

 

It's not the hydraulics, hell I replaced all my hydraulics trying to track it down. Stock pressure plate=shit. I even had it replaced under warranty, and it was only marginally better. No problems with the ACT pressure plate.

Cool thanks. I have 110K and I bought it at 40K. As far as I know it's the original. It grabs and holds good, but if I release it too slow it chatters and makes the car jerk a littled.

 

This could also point me in the direction of my pressure plate as you said. I guess I'm just surprised my TOB hasn't taken a shit yet. They seem to like to take out the snout of the trans too..

We have seen chattering as a result of the snout having a groove worn in it. We use the TSK Kits on about 50% of our clutch installs due to worn snouts.
