So I finally did this - the CORRECT way - using an actual pigtail, and I notice NO appreciable difference at all. Is there something I'm missing. I know it's not a grounding issue as I tried it both to a bolt in the floor (to which I have my amp grounded) as well as one of my toggle switches which I know is properly grounded. I inserted the pigtail into the blank spot in the plug which was the fourth over. Am I missing a step?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm a ****ing idiot. I grounded the fourth pin on the 16 wire connector, and after further watching the video again, it appears as though I should have done it on the 20-wire connector. FAIL. Now I'm pissed because the junkyard is closed on the weekend and I want to finish this damned mod.

Hmmm... I think I have a mini toggle switch I had intended to use for a new wiring schema on my guitar. May have to put that on hold so I can do this one in stead. I don't quite get what he's doing in the video in stead of using a pigtail? Push the wire into the slot as you install it to the TCU and hope it stays?

I did use a switch. I wouldn't want it on all the time. All you do is run the wire from that pin on the TCU to your switch, and then ground out the other pole on the switch.

What do all those switches go to?! And does your cupholder still hold cups after that?

Looks pretty clean, btw.

From left to right: 3.5 mm auxiliary input, stock horn, train horns, power mode, FWD mode, USB input.

I can no longer use the cupholder, but I never really used it, so I don't miss it at all.

Probably not safe to switch on FWD while moving, is it?

It is safe to switch them on & off but it isn't safe to leave the FWD function on at high speeds. The solenoid was not designed to handle 100% duty cycle (but for some reason, the natural split in our autos is 90/10, so does that mean that the solenoid is at 90% duty cycle?) & there have been reports of people burning out their Duty Cs by leaving it on all the time.
