98LGTLover
Ok, so about 3 weeks ago I started my LGT up after it had been sitting for a week and this is the video I took of it.. http://youtu.be/4XUVTUknO0Y Now I decided to go out and start it up today and this is what it sounds like... http://youtu.be/ahHVRjtsgMU I'm seriously baffled as to what is going on. I haven't done anything to it except let it sit for another week or so. I'm happy none the less, I just go back from taking it for a drive and it is like nothing was ever wrong. I Donated broknindarkagain Posted November 16, 2011 I Donated Share Posted November 16, 2011 Its the kanooter valve. Did you happen to drop a new engine into it while it was sitting for a week??? -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." 98LGTLover
I haven't done a thing to this car! In fact we all thought it was toast so we dropped the insurance on it and it has just been hanging out in the driveway.

98LGTLover
I know! I've never heard of an engine knocking then all of a sudden it just goes away... But hey I'm happy! I didn't have to put a penny into it to make it all better lol
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted November 16, 2011 I Donated Share Posted November 16, 2011 I hate to burst your bubble, but I have a feeling that the knocking will come back if it were a rod knock. The oil is a bit thicker when its cold...so it may just be masking the noise. Let the car warm up all the way and drive it through the neighborhood and see what happens -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." 98LGTLover
It has been running for the last 45 min and I drove it for 5-6 miles...
subikid90
Could of been a sticking valve that unstuck its self. I have seen this happen before, even pulled motors apart and found nothing had failed, just a stuck valve. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
Jab83
This is what happened to my first car. It threw a barring rod. But was left sitting for almost two years i bought it and drove it home no knocking whats so ever. I drove the car for over 2 1/2 years before i crashed it. Never any engine problems. I tried to kill it everytime i got in it. it wouldn't die..
