keltek
Im interested in getting a e-tune, pro-tune or using accessport OTS map, not sure which way to go, also to use which method (accessport vs opensource) my car is a 2009 legacy gt 5speed w/ 24,000miles. mods are: drop in afe filter, cnt catted downpipe, invidia uppipe, and invidia headers. other than that the car is stock. my car is running great now, hitting 15psi and pulling strong. after adding the cnt catted downpipe, i am starting to get a check engine light (p0420). i reset it every time it appears but it keeps coming back every 20-60miles i figure a tune will delete the (p0420) as it is just sensing the extra exhaust flow from headers, dp and up i use only premium 92 octane. what do you suggest? Infamous1
I highly doubt you are running "great". But if the price is right I would recommend a local dyno/road tune. The ots Cobb is basically to get the ball rolling. If you have no issue pulling logs up and down the road, go with an e-tune from a trusted Subie tuner
Mega Users seabass07 Posted November 1, 2011 Mega Users Share Posted November 1, 2011 I highly doubt you are running "great". This. I doubt your engine is happy!
mwiener2
Protune on a dyno is your best option and the only way to truly dial in timing. A road tune is dangerous, but yields a better tune than an e-tune. An OTS map is acceptable.
