BAC5.2
So the "filter" is just a screen with a baffle on the back, and a spring to keep the filter in place? BAC5.2
Hmm... Any details on the filtering medium? Can you get the kit without the filter (so I could use an FP -4AN inline filter)? No DRFT
Also, does the threads have to be teflon taped? or screw it in as is? I have no control over drippie.
BAC5.2
AN fittings do not require any kind of teflon taping. You use Teflon tape on pipe fittings only. If you want to use SOMETHING, then a LITTLE oil-based lubricant can help prevent the threads from galling. In an AN fitting, the threads don't do the sealing, the flared surface does. BAC5.2
why is that one^ much better?? It's rated for particulate filtration (3-micron). I don't know anything about the filter used in this kit. Do you have any datasheets for this filter, Mike? Edit: Looking at the IP&T website, it says it's a 10 micron filter. I wish I had a better picture of the medium. BAC5.2
So what is this filter going to stop that the standard oil filter won't? m sprank
Particulate from the heads traveling into the turbo. Turbo is last in line for oil. So oil passes through top end, then to turbo. Aftermarket turbo manufacturers have seen many bearing failures from contaminated oil.
iNVAR
So what is this filter going to stop that the standard oil filter won't?It's going to stop whatever the banjo filter stopped, but to a finer degree, and be easily user serviceable. At least that's my take on it.

m sprank
FP is 10 Micron. Not 3 Micron. FP uses a sock style filter. http://store.forcedperformance.net/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FP&Product_Code=FP4ANFilter&Category_Code=Acc-OilLines Dont believe every thing you read on a forum. spec.B Dream
Any pics of the AVCS line for 07+ LGTs with the air pump? I bought Hicksta's. I should be able to figure it out, but pics for pre-research are always appreciated.

spec.B Dream
Thanks. I saw that it specifically said pre-air pump, so I was thinking that was for the older cars and the routing was different for the ones equipped with the air pump.
m sprank
It is a pre-air pump. but routing is basically the same. But, easier. Oil galley fitting is on top of the block, under the manifold. Under the turbo inlet tube on 07-09. So, it is a straight shot with a shorter line. No having to route behind the block.
