MAx96
Recently bought car with 24k miles, rear way too bouncy/under-dampened for me from the start. I am not willing to lower my vehicle with aftermarket springs. From my search here I see I can go with KYB or Koni. Anyone have any feedback on either with the stock springs? I also spotted a seller on ebay with a complete rear Bilstein assembly off an '09 Spec B. Would these be a direct swap on my n/a Legacy?
scoobydoobie
I would out on the the same struts on all 4 corners. Konis or Bilsteins all around.
tito_b0y
Yes, the stock Spec B shocks/struts are direct bolt-ons for any other 4th gen Legacy. +1 on putting new struts all around. I have the Koni/Epic spring setup and really like 'em. If you're one to 'set it and forget it', go with Bilsteins. If the idea of playing with the dampening settings intrigues you, gopher the Konis. I've read a couple people on here that have/are running Konis/stock springs without any problem. With that said, I don't really see a problem with running a newer set of rear or front shocks so long as you're replacing both left and right sides. You may get a little more oversteer (or reduced understeer) with the stiffer Bilstein rears. 2006 SWP 3.0R 5EAT VDC BBQ 2008 OBP 2.5i 4EAT BBQ [RIP]
