Zac88
as far as I can see we have 4 TGV sensors (05 Legacy GT) I broke the one closest to the turbo, so rear passenger side one. Here is a picture of the part numbers. But from what I can see I can only buy one for the front passenger side or the rear drivers side? Can someone please help I havent been able to drive my car for a week as I cant find the propper part http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l524/lonely_driver1/Projects/tgvs.jpg
ehsnils
There are only two, not four. It is said that the throttle position sensor is identical to the TGV sensor but don't count on it - it can depend on model year and market. As for the sensor - it's not specified in the picture you provided, but it's opposite to the actuator designated 14120/14120A. The one opposite to 14120A is easily accessible from the front of the engine while the other is trickier to access. I hope that this helps. ehsnils
As for if it is identical to the throttle position sensor (which you can probably figure out by comparing them on the engine you have) you can go here https://www.subaruonlineparts.com/oempartscat.html, select your car model and do a keyword search for Throttle position sensor. lowwill
I bought a used set from grimmspeed.com for about $30. 2 sensors and 2 motors and a set of stickers. Quick shipping. I also broke that same one. Let me guess. Trying to access the banjo bolt? Good luck Edited October 29, 2011 by lowwill

Where can I find a part number for exactly what I need then? I bought a used set from grimmspeed.com for about $30. 2 sensors and 2 motors and a set of stickers. Quick shipping. I also broke that same one. Let me guess. Trying to access the banjo bolt? Good luck Yes thats how I broke it I looked on the Grimmspeed website but didnt see any for sale? Also again to clarify, was it a sensor or motor your replaced?
Zac88
Found it on grimmspeed and ordered! Any tips on installation?
ehsnils
Just be careful when removing the old one, it's mounted with pre-tension (about 90 degrees) on a flat pin and 2 crews holds it in place. If you just rotate it to release the tension first then remove it you get it right since the flat pin only goes into the sensor in steps of 90 degrees. Zac88
The way the built-in spring leads you. OK so will the sensor spin when I take both screws off? im surprised no one suggested a set of TGV deletes haha I would but it requires a custom tune. ehsnils
OK so will the sensor spin when I take both screws off? Yes it will. Just hold it with your fingers, no tools needed.
Zac88
well that was a waste of ******* time... theres not enough room between the turbo and the sensor to take it off and I lost the screws trying to get it back in... I'm looking into TGV deletes now, is there any harm in driving with the deletes without being tuned?
LetMyArmGo
I was looking for a "how to" DIY to replace this TGV sensor since I broke mine trying to get to the banjo bolt. Any suggestions?

Anyone know the part number for the actual SENSOR and not the TGV motor or full assembly? I'm having an impossible time finding it, and the local dealerships are throwing up their hands confused... I'm having an impossible time finding it, and the local dealerships are throwing up their hands confused... From what I had researched, you can't find the TGV sensors in the Subaru parts catalog. However, apparently the TPS sensor is identical. Post #16 and 17 (Bet you can recognize the poster for #16) Sensors the same:https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1312900 TPS Sensor: https://www.carparts.com/details/subaru/legacy/replacement/throttle_position_sensor/2005/gt/4_cyl_2-dot-5l/reps314201.html

When I searched the part number above, I found this Duralast part at AutoZone and grabbed one: https://www.autozone.com/engine-management/throttle-position-sensor-tps/duralast-throttle-position-sensor-tps-tps4117/332743_0_0 I expect it'll work just fine, but I'll let you all know if it doesn't!
