FlexdXJ
Ok, Picked up a 97 Legacy GT yesterday. The radio wasn't working right or holding memory. I got it fixed but found something else. This connector was cut off. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z89/GLi8v/2011-10-26_16-34-16_546.jpg from here http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z89/GLi8v/2011-10-26_16-34-32_580.jpg It looks like the connector that was cut off terminates in to the other one. Am I just crazy or is that for another option? Just gonna solder the wires back together and put shrink tube on them. Should I connect it back together or leave it alone once i get it back together? subikid90
I believe that is for the factory sub/amp under the driver seat -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
Osei
That is the original connector that Subaru used up til 05 (14 pin). In 06 Subaru changed to a 7 (?) pin connector. All radios since 06 use the new connector. Check in audio section for a pinout, and see which lines should be connected. O.
David E
Looks like the connector to the factory sub under the drivers seat. It was set up as a kind of piggy-back to the original harness.
motohorseman
It appears to be the connector for the flux capacitor. Removal allows for speeds in excess of 88MPH.

I don't wanna go back to 1985! Looks like the connector to the factory sub under the drivers seat. It was set up as a kind of piggy-back to the original harness. So do I just plug em all together and have mad bass yo? I haven't looked under the drivers seat for a sub!
David E
Sorry the pictures don't really show the wiring, but basically there is a "jumper" or "Y" connection if you have the factory subwoofer. http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m513/DavidsOutback/IMG-20111028-00022.jpg http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m513/DavidsOutback/IMG-20111028-00023.jpg http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m513/DavidsOutback/RadioWires.jpg

Seems to me like the guy before the Guy I got it from didn't know what they were doing.
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted October 30, 2011 I Donated Share Posted October 30, 2011 Seems to be a theme with these cars.... -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." FlexdXJ
Seems to be a theme with these cars.... Yea, I hear that. The guy I bought it from has an STi with some nice upgrades. Its a blast at the AutoX! He knows what he is doing. He drove to Cincinnati to get this car, so who knows what was done to it there. I rewired the plug and hooked it up but the sub still doesn't work. My guess is that the amp is fried. Oh well.
