galiff
i have an 05 legacy 2.5i. Only way i see to open the trunk is the lever next to the gas door one. Key fob doesn't have it. Trunk doesn't have key hole. Am i missing something? Why would they not design a way to open the trunk from the outside?
TooBigToFit
Well I don't know about the 2005 key fob, but the 2008 definitely has a button on the key for the trunk. Otherwise, the only other way to open it is that trunk lever.
cypher0117
my 05 key fob for my gt has a trunk button on it. the key fob and lever are the only ways I know unless you are physically inside the trunk, there is another lever to open it. biopacifist
i had been kind of curious about this as well. my OEM fob had a button on it to open the trunk, but when i got an aftermarket remote starter, my new remote doesnt have the button. I just accepted the fact that i would have to use the lever.
JLB
In the case of the aftermarket. Is it just an upgraded alarm?

RJS5689
does anyone have an 05 key fob with trunk release? The 2005 key fob should have a trunk release on it. You can also open it from inside the trunk if you get locked inside - it is the small glow in the dark handle.

Techhead58
My UK Spec B has only one button on the fob, but this does allow the boot (Trunk) to be opened remotely. Simply hold the fob button IN for 2-3 seconds after the door locks clunk open, and the boot lid will pop up a little, allowing you to fully open it. bonang
Sounds like the OP perhaps has an aftermarket key fob, as I believe all 4th gen Legacy sedans have a remote trunk release.
