Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted October 3, 2011 Mega Users Share Posted October 3, 2011 Oil is oil. I dabbled in synthetic but turbo and motor failure later (not that they were in any way, shape or form related to anything) I'll save my money and peace of mind and do dino changes every 3k. boymk123
the turbo subie has factory OCI 3750miles, so it makes sense todo 3k OCI... put Castrol gtx in our 2.5i, the thing will run forever
scoobydoobie
I just switched from dino to Pennzoil synthetic last oil change at 45K. Almost at 47K with no usage now. Those that recommend dino, how do you feel now that subaru requires synthetic to be run in all new turbo models? That's one of the main reasons that prompted my switch. I like to think Petrie, Little Foot, and Duckie are in there battling evil dinosaurs and premature engine wear...

LegacyLove88
Alright, update time. I'm hardly consuming any oil after switching to synthetic. Still have a small leak (about a quarter sized after like 12 hours. Not enough to make me worry... hope I don't regret that decision!
