TrentonJ Posted May 2, 2011 Share Posted May 2, 2011 I just bought a 1990 legacy wagon with 205000 miles Problems- -None of the dash lights work - I don't know what kind of stereo it has in it but its missing the face plate -The back passenger window doesn't roll down and the front passenger will roll down with the drivers controls but wont roll back up and if anyone knows problems that are common with the year let me know. will have pictures up soon something with wrong with the unloaders in the site. You can usually find a replacement faceplate on ebay. When you say none of the dash lights, do you mean that the numbers dont light up? Does the ebrake light work, or any of the other dummy lights? If this is the case, there is a yellow wire behind the radio thats suppose to be grounded out. Legacy Wagon Posted May 18, 2011 Share Posted May 18, 2011 Or it could be the bulbs burned out, but I'd be hard pressed to believe all of them went out at the same time. Chances are it's something wrong with the illumination system. But on the off chance that all the bulbs burned out they're easy enough to replace. Legacy Wagon Posted May 20, 2011 Share Posted May 20, 2011 Honestly performance parts will need to come from other Subaru's. Legacy's after the year 91 can use the rear sway bars from newer Legacy's and get a serious upgrade, but the 90-91 cant use the RSB's from newer ones so if we want that as a suspension upgrade you have to go with Whiteline. A lot of people like Whiteline for their suspension parts. I'd check them out for that stuff. As for rims/tires I'd go with some 02-05 WRX rims. They come 205/55/16 stock so it's an instant upgrade. It does rub sometimes off-road though. I've ripped quite a bit of my wheel well coating off. Engine-wise there's not a whole lot you can do...or at least I wouldnt with an engine that has 205k miles on it. I'd focus on making it handle better. Now does the passenger side window roll up with the passenger side control? Because that's what my driver side rear does. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
