What is the best Spring/Strut combo

73datsun

Recommended Posts

I've got a 2006 LGT. I usually do 2-3 high speed driving/track events a year. Along with rallyx, autox and hill climbs.

It also serves as my daily driver.

I do NOT want coilovers. I want a pretty much set and forget set up. Possibly with adjustable damping in struts, but not mandatory.

I'm not looking for looks, just something that performs better then factory.

I also do not wish to hack up and put Koni inserts in.

So what other options do I have?

If there's a thread you'd prefer me to reference, feel free to post it here.

thanks!

If you don't want to do Koni's or Coilovers, then your only option is Bilstein HD's.

The Koni install isn't hard, and you can even pay M Sprank to do it for you (it actually comes out to be pretty inexpensive).

I love my Bilstein's, but other people love their Koni's. Rarely will you find someone with enough seat time in both to tell you which is better. You can't go wrong with either.

That's up to you. It's not hard if you have a pipe cutter, a drill and patience. Or you can buy them installed from M Sprank and save yourself the hassle for a small fee.

That's about the same cost as a Bilstein HD setup with springs, or a lightly used set of really good coilovers. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
