Rear end roaring noise?

Recommended Posts

I have a 2005 OBXT 5eat. A few weeks ago a roaring noise started coming from the rear of the car on acceleration and when slowing down. At least that's when I hear it. It is noticeable enough for my wife to hear it. She says it is coming from the drivers side and I think it is coming from the passenger side. Obviously it is coming from the rear somewhere. I tried different air pressure in the tires but it did not make a difference. Any ideas?

P.S. We have driven the car 300 plus miles since this has started including a trip out of town and nothing has failed.

One of you sit in the back seat and have the other one drive the car and listen for which side the noise is from.

Left, right or center. Lets hope it's not the center.

bluesuby: Extended warranty is good especially if you buy the car new, but if you buy it used the warranty only last from the date of manufacture to five years out or 100,000 miles which ever comes first. (Usually five years)

I will have to check the wheel bearing and hope it's not the center. Thanks.
