silverbullet05
So the other day i noticed that my car was getting a little hard to turn after about a 1/4 to 1/2 turn of the steering wheel. I figured it was just a lot of snowed and ice packed in the car so i cleaned it up, and it is still hard to turn. It is weird, the power steering goes in and out and at complete random times. There is no noise associated with this, and thats why im confused. The belt is tight and like i said, no noises. For whatever reason nobody can order a power steering pump here in southern colorado except the dealer, who wants $500. Any thoughts???
Draco-REX
Sounds like your pump. SGP has one for 307. https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/oe_parts_cat.html
ineedone
Hold off on the pump for now, do a flush first.
iNVAR
Stupid question but I still gotta ask. Did you check the fluid level?
ronburgandy21
Make sure you don't have any air in your system. Check the reservoir for bubbles. If it does turn out to be a bad pump, I just replaced mine. Ordered a reman. one from Checker for 159.22 plus 30.00 for core charge. Works like new
mustangendsley
I just did a flush and put new Gaits racing belts on and works fine now. You shoud do that first. even if the belts are tight check them to see if all the grooves are there and no cracking.
