Deadleave
Don't remember.... That not the shop I had it installed at (Two shops looked at it, EFI in CT and AZP in NJ, both concurred it was the DP). I took those pics, when I bottomed out and hit the DP, drove to the nearest shop with a lift and open on a Sunday. Took pics just when was making note of any possible damage. LosAngelesLGT
Or compressed air bottles on the road. Who would hit a compressed air bottle? Oh wait... That was me. In for resolution.

Drew888
This is so annoying. Here is a shot of my CNT DP. I will be posting a new thread soon. That pic is crazy low. A/T or not doesn't that only happen if the pipe length from the flange to the first bend is too long? I'll admit I have never seen both laid out side by side but that just seems weird. 05_LGT
some shots my mech took, one is a side by side and one has the pipes laying over each other. I'm not crazy but these pipes should have similar bends right?
Spec B
^ Definately a bad DP..the curves should be the same...those are not even close.

05_LGT
They have been super cool...they are saying they will refund me cause i have the correct part. I just want them to compare mine to an existing one because i am very interested in the part
goneskiian
Damn, I guess I'd better get mine out and compare it to the spare OEM DP I have stashed. Thanks for the heads up!
Deadleave
Wonder if its too late for me. When I first brought this up, ppl kind of dismissed it, it wasn't ERZ/CNT Been less than an year but more than six months since purchase.
BAC5.2
You got the pipe for $200. What do you expect? "You get what you pay for" is a famous quote for a reason. If you want higher quality, spend the money for a quality product. Spec B
He expected it to fit, just like almost everyone else's did. "There is a sucker born everyday" is also a famous quote for a reason. It is silly to assume more money = better fitment. This is a pipe, not an intricate piece of machinery.
BAC5.2
This is a pipe, not an intricate piece of machinery. And yet somehow, they still got it wrong. Deaks2
Wow, that pipe is really low. My Invidia catless and now Lachute TS catted pipe are not even close to being that low. 5MT here.
goneskiian
any one else out there with issues? I won't know for sure until I install it but my catted version looks to be OK. I didn't take pictures but I got it out and laid it next to the extra stock one I have and it looks like it should fit just fine. I hope CNT Racing is taking care of you folks with ill-fitting versions.
BAC5.2
So does AVO, Invidia, Perrin and Cobb sometimes. The frequency of problems with those seem to be far less. It's pretty clear that these aren't checked over at ALL once they get to the US from China. Deadleave
Well I am SOL, they said window for doing anything was too long, and they say that all their catted 5EAT is that way. I wish I had pursued it harder, instead of accepting claims it was just my car. You can see I started this thread in Dec, as it was part of the group buy from M Sprank. Lesson learned, will try to find a better DP, hopefully Cobb fits better.
Almo
I just put one in today. Love the pipe but it didn't line up with the mount hanger. At first I was convinced my mount was bent but there's no way it was bent that much. My ground is fine just like stock no lower but I am a little disappointed it didnt match up with the lower mount. Had to do a bit of a hack which I hate but had to be in today Everything else about the pipe seems top notch and I like it! http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m253/almo4u/66d94963.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m253/almo4u/edfa39bc.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m253/almo4u/54e09beb.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m253/almo4u/a9f427e6.jpg
m sprank
When installing a DP. you should set the DP on the turbo studs, then start a few threads in to the tranny hanger. You can lightly start the CBE connection too. Then torque the turbo, hanger and CBE. Even on a OEM DP if you torque the turbo first, you might not be able to start the hanger bolt. Also, CNT has a 100% fit guarantee. Always have. If your pipe does not fit for any reason, they just need pix and a call or email. A new pipe will be sent out free of charge as soon as the old arrives. They normally even pay return shipping. You just have to ask, no one knows if you dont ask. You can lightly start the CBE connection too. Then torque the turbo, hanger and CBE. Even on a OEM DP if you torque the turbo first, you might not be able to start the hanger bolt. I was doing this procedure, I had all the bolts in the holes (hanger and donut) loose, just one or two threads. next I went to the turbo tightening down the bellmouth but it seem like there was too much pressure on the bolts pulling them togeather and it wasnt closing the gap evenly. Hey! maybe I didn't install it 100% correctly but honestly I felt having the bolt in the hanger first. (even very loose) was putting too much pressure on the bolts and made the line up at the turbo very hard/stressed. None the less I'm very happy with the DP it's nice!!! I am lovin stage two. I can live with the misaligned hanger! Thank your for responding. I like hearing they will stand by their products. Cheers
m sprank
If it is an issue, you can always call or email them, send a pic and they might exchange it. There have been a few come through that had an odd bend, or a rough flange and they have always offered to replace them free of charge.
