mach_six
It would be an adequate substitute if we don't end up getting the Spec B. I like the mod chip that gives up to 314 hp! I would skip the GTX and just get the mod chip. Then get my own components. The only thing the GTX has that might be hard to track down is the custom seats, but the Spec B has similar seats. Oops, maybe I'm thinking of the Blitzen. But the Japanese Blitzen may become our Spec B. http://www.subaru.co.jp/blitzen2005/ GTX seats are just seat cover replacements, you can go to a custom leather uphoster and they'll do it for you or wait for places like http://www.leatherseats.com to sell them. It's funny that the Forester XT gets a 20HP, I wonder if they did anything to it cause the curent 210 is way underrated.

Yeah we have had a few on the dyno here and they have always produced closer to 230hp stock. I am sure Subaru did not want to udermine the WRX which will this year have the 2.5 motor as well. anand
I read a thing on Edmunds today saying the NHTSA has mandated all 2006 year model cars manufactured after September 1st, 2005 must have a tire pressure monitoring system. If that is still the case that's at least one feature that should be present on the '06 Legacy (if it's not already on the '05).
