What do you guys think of these wheels? TSW Nurburgring...

Bling!!!

Now I just need to mount them....

Observations:

- 19 lb flat on my fairly accurate scale. Light. 18x8 et45 5x100. They say rotary forged on the box.

- Lighter color than expected. They will be a shade lighter than my DGM car. I like it.

- Best price was from Discount Tire Direct - $924 shipped. Special order but shipped fairly quick. Packed well. Gave them my car info, they included free metal hub rings.

- They are flat face wheel, the spokes are flat, the center is concave. Looks good in person, especially for a high offset wheel.

- Paint is a little thin on the back, can see lots of the base coat.

Overall, they look like a somewhat expensive, euro, high quality wheel. Very happy so far.

I wonder if they clear Brembos? I do like that wheel style quite a bit.

That's awesome.

Hmm, and it looks like they make a 17x8 +45 (for $216/wheel), but it doesn't show fitment on an 04 STi... Hmm... a call might be in order.

Total shipped with "wheel installation kit" and valve stems is $821.00. That's not half bad.

I wish they made an all silver one.

Nice wheels - decent weight for the size.

Recommend NOT using metal hub rings. They will corrode over time and make it hard to get them out of the wheel or worse, they'll cause your finish to corrode. Polycarbonate is the way to go - for less than $10.00 shipped, worth it over the metal HC rings.

BTW - What is the hub-bore?

Excellent....bought some plastic rings separately before I knew they were coming with rings....so I'll use them! Thanks!

Hub bore is 72mm.

Wheels will be mounted tomorrow......dirty, in the dark pics pending...

On a side note, I'm liking these much better than the Bremmer Kraft BR05 in that other thread going. 5 lb lighter, and I think they look better.

I do wish they made them in a full silver/polished, would have gone with that. Oh well, gunmetal is quite popular these days.

So what are those in post #84 above?

Machined/polished face with gunmetal everything else. Was tempted to go with those, but felt like it didn't quite work with the dimensionality of the wheel.

One of the thing that I really like about these is the flat face with concave center. On a high offset wheel, it seem to give a good look without having to resort to a outward bulge in the spokes.

I would have liked a 100% polished or polished face with silver back. But MGM is good.

Thanks for pointing out the machining - didn't catch that on the fly-by

By "high offset" you mean, highly offset towards the fender (in reality, low offset), or highly offset toward the suspension (in reality, high offset). By low, I mean something less than +40. By high, I mean something greater than +50.

I mean +45 (high offset) and normal width vs. +30ish with a wider wheel for a true concave. For a "normal" fitment they give a bit of concave look.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just a quick preview.

TSW Nurburgring

Matte Bronze

19x8 +45

235/35/19

On coilovers, no fender roll, no rubbing yet. If I go lower, I'll need to roll the fenders.
