Nochance
http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/495/oucha.jpg $189 for the tire. It will be in on Monday. The mechanic measure my other tires and said they're fine. Probably won't need another tire or alignment (possible cause to this) but he's going to check anyways. The only upside is my loaner car. My dads 07 SL500. I may not want my car back.

scoobydoobie
looks like a bridgestone potenza re960as +1. Why replacing just one tire on a suby? Shaving it to match?
Nochance
It is a RE960AS. I have no idea how it happened. Sounded like a flat so I pulled off the road and called AAA. He said it could have been from a bad alignment. I didn't really notice any pull though.

erikras
no way does that look like an alignment issue to me +1 I'm a former ASE Master Tech. I've NEVER seen the catastrophic failure of a tire result from a improper alignment. Especially given that your inner side of your tread doesn't appear that worn. It was driven flat and you weren't paying attention or there was a serious manufacturing defect in the tire.
