Anyone know how to remove the trim strip above the rear license plate (wagon)?

I just debadged and I was thinking it would look way better with that strip painted black

I think you have to remove the inner trim panel on the liftgate.

This is my next project.....I put tinted vinyl on the back up lights. Try a search....someone posted step by step info when they took it apart to see about the rear Subaru badge. 'wagon reverse lights' should get you there.

Now, in addition to the tint, the black wagon needs SoD's tints for the reverse lights, and it will be nicely blacked out.

I put those tint strips on last week. Got the lighter smoke vs. the dark smoke.
