kevinkingofimports.com Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 We are looking for some of the commercial photos that Subaru has disseminated across the net which make you want to buy a Legacy. You know those awe inspiring photos. Here is the one we have for the STi right now on our site: While the Legacy photo will not likely be identical, it should show off the qualities that make it both a Legacy and the characteristics that you think embody the Legacy whether they be performance, sportiness, affordability, etc. I am sure most of you have may have these saved on your hard drives. Can you upload them or link us to them? Any help in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated as is your feedback. Thank you again! Subie.tv

SUBE555 Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 You mean like this: (The one in the dealer brocure had the same pic with the hood scoop which looked better.) I hope that helps a little. :)

Th3Franz Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Again, to give you the heads up, you might want to explicitly get permission to use the photos, since they are probably copyrighted. :D -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
kevinkingofimports.com Posted June 16, 2004 Author Posted June 16, 2004 How am I supposed to sell subaru parts if I can't show pictures off? :( Subie.tv

I have this program called websnatcher. Despite its name, it is very useful for downloading websites). I will probably have you just delete it after I am able to download it myself, but I thought we should have a back up in case Subaru wises up in a day or two however unlikely that may be. Subie.tv
Th3Franz Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004
How am I supposed to sell subaru parts if I can't show pictures off? :(
It's not hard to get permission.. Personally I wouldn't care, but somebody might. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
kevinkingofimports.com Posted June 17, 2004 Author Posted June 17, 2004 Actually, you are absolutely right. I have been looking into the law and consulting my attorney. Subie.tv
SUBE555 Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 Just have to chop out the copyright thing. Oops, I didn't say that.
apexjapan Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 How am I supposed to sell subaru parts if I can't show pictures off?  Biz investment - you hire a photog for a day and get a car, do a hell of a lot of shots (best if you get multiple vehicles to save on costs), then you have your own library of vehicle shots to use. Or invest in a good digital SLR (like the Canon 300D/Kiss or Nikon D70) and shoot your own shots.  Like this. Cheers Paul Hansen

gt_ltd Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 Programs like websnatcher may not work since the site uses .swf mostly instead of HTML, and one .swf opens another one depending on where you click. Also, it's not obvious what file(s) is opened at any given time. I'd suggest clicking thru all the pictures you like and screen-capture them. Takes time but probably the easiest way.
