So how hard is a full interior swap?

You must gain about 2" of leg room without that carpet in there.

You're probably right on with that.

Anyway, done for the day. Got the carpets back in both cars and the front seats IN the car, but not bolted back down yet. Was getting tired so I called it a day. Should finish up tomorrow or Tuesday I'm hoping.

Well, it rained for some of the afternoon, so that put a damper on trying to get the cars back together today. But the rain did stop for a while so I got to work on the OBXT and got it mostly back together. Carpet is down and secure (mostly), seats are in and bolted down, dash pieces and center console are in and secure. Only things left are the rear seat cushion and then the door panels (which will be the very last things done).

Here's the formerly black, now tan, interior OBXT.

Well all the big stuff is done. Only things left are a few odds & ends here/there, and the door panels (which will get done on saturday assuming the weather cooperates. :)

So one thing I've run into...while plugging back in the OBXT passenger side seat into the LGT, there weren't as many plugs on the LGT wiring harness as there were on the OBXT wiring harness. This means that there are 2 things that are NOT plugged in under the passenger seat. I'm also getting an airbag light on the dash (which I'm guessing is a direct result of this). The LGT seat has all the connections that the OBXT wiring harness needs and the LGT seat went in the OBXT without any issue.

Why would the wiring harnesses be different?

I figured as much when you posted this...that you would do it. I should have made one recommendation...if you were willing to spend the money: go with black carpet for both. Yeah, would have to spend the money, but black carpet always wins IMO.

Thanks for sharing your swap with us. Something to consider for the future (if I get a second, newer subie).

Sure you didn't loose a connector under the carpet?

It's quite possible as I was sweating my ass off in the 97* heat, and I was extremely tired by the point I got to that seat, but when I installed the seat into the OBXT, I could have sworn all 7 plugs were on the same harness. I'll have to dig around under there today and see what I can find.

Lets hope so, though if you have to it should be possible to swap the leather on the seats. There was a good guide floating around for repairing a seat heater that went over seat disassembly, but I think that was for cloth seats. I would want to think the internals of the seat are serviceable even with leather.

I think I may have found it although I didn't get a chance to unbolt the seat today. While posting my 'journal' in the photos section, I saw this picture, and I don't remember having that extra plug through the carpet hole, so I'll hunt for that tomorrow.

Those connectors were all b*tches to remove when I pulled out the passenger seat. I think the weather was about the same when I did it too haha.

You literally need 3 FREAKIN' HANDS to get some of them!

Found the wires. One was still under the carpet, and the other was a part of the 'huge' harness, it had just gotten wrapped around another connector and I didn't see it. I'm still getting an airbag warning light on the instrument cluster that wasn't there before the interior swap, so I need to chase down that.

Officially done. :) Finished up the door panels today, so everything has been swapped over. Didn't have a chance to get pics as I was fighting the clock due to the approaching rain, but I'll get some tomorrow or Thursday.

Any luck with the airbag light? Looking forward to finding these pieces to replace my "awesome" tan interior.

Yeah, the airbag light was the airbag connector at the base of the passenger B-pillar. When I snapped it in, it must have popped out somehow, and all I had to do was plug it in.
