f1anatic
Hello all ! A former schoolmate/co-worker/ but still good friend of mine currently living in Newark, New Jersey has run into some car trouble. She has a 2007 Ford Fusion, V6. With the AC on, cold air comes inside the car. But with the fan on, but AC off, the vents get really really hot and the inside of the car becomes foggy. She took it several times (including today) to the dealership who claim is normal - although in her 3 years of ownership, the car never displayed this problem until now. I personally suspect some leaking coolant from the heater core. She claims the problem is only happening when the engine is hot / the car has been driven for a while. Is it possible for someone local to meet my said friend and at least reassure her it is safe to drive the car back to Chicago ? Please let me know. Thanks. HarryN
The car is safe to drive back to Chicago. Her heater core is screwed up. She can get it replaced when she gets to Chicago. Just tell her to leave the A/C off if she doesn't want to be cooked.
bluesuby
Could you bypass the heater core by removing one heater hose and routing the remaining hose back to the engine? The A/C should still work. It's going to be damn hot in the next few days.
