carr80
05 Legacy GT getting ready to go Stg2. I have a catless UP/DP and am getting an Accessport. My question is what do i need to do to prevent the CEL from coming on? 1) The UP i know there is a "resistor" fix for. Can somebody tell me what resistor i need and does it just go in where i unplug the stock egt sensor? 2) for the DP is there an "electric" fix and a "mechanical" fix? For the mechanical fix i just use the spark plug foulers right? If so what size do i need? I had a buddy with an 02 WRX and went catless and he had something that got soldered in between the 02 sensor in the wiring. Is that the electric fix? Where can i get that? Before anyone flames me i did search and read ALOT of threads but couldn't find what i was looking for.
Strizzy
I'm pretty sure the AP disables those CELs My bad luck build
goneskiian
Before anyone flames me i did search and read ALOT of threads but couldn't find what i was looking for. Really? I found this thread with a quick search of the terms "resistor mod"... http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135988&highlight=resistor+mod In it LosAngelesLGT links a walkthrough he created for you... http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/unofficial-05-06-lgt-2-131488.html And this thread by searching "spark plug defouler" which links you to a walkthrough of this very mod on another forum... http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77217&highlight=spark+plug+defouler I can, however, confirm that the COBB AccessPORT does indeed take care of any codes these modifications my cause you. Is there a special setting you have to use on the AP to fix them or is it automatically taken care of when u flash to stg2?
Strizzy
It's automatic with the AP My bad luck build
2006Specb122
It's automatic with the AP I have a cobb access port and was still getting P1544 codes Check out my full story here at post #8 http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/check-engine-light-help-egt-sensor-135571.html?t=135571 I think it is worth a read. I am 90% sure I've solved the issue for good by removing the EGT sensor but beware those with Accessport can STILL get a code caused by the EGT sensor. compsurge
The EGT code can be disabled by the tuner. To make sure it never bothers you, just tape a 2.2k resistor in the plug and call it a day.
