Baddog
I am looking for a shop in Oregon to make some single port headers. What size should I have them make them?
Zues Marine
2.25 will give you the most power
Baddog
Do you think I would be able to get them made for around $100? Also I would need to let them know I will be doing a 2.25 all the way back, right? so they can put the right size flange on?
Zues Marine
idk how much theyd charge.. make sure they get all the details though or else they just do whatever the **** they want and you have to make a scene to get them to redo it
Baddog
I shall see. So what kind of details would I need to give them? 2.25 Single Port headers and it will need a flange to connect to another 2.25" mid pipe?
Zues Marine
yeah, stress the flange of else they'll cut the cat flange and weld it all together as one pipe
Baddog
I plan on buying one piece of the exhaust at a time so they wont be doing it all at once.
subikid90
also if you want UEL headers let them know -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
Baddog
they can do that for single port? That would probably cost quite a bit more?
subikid90
I can't see why not. I don't know if it will have the same effect with the rumble with the dual port headers. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
Zues Marine
it shouldnt cost much more if any theyll still just weld the headers and cat together unless you specify because its easier for them 9/10 xhaust shops do that
Baddog
should i just get an exhaust that isn't catted at all made? And then put the stock one on when its time for emissions?
Baddog
Im trying to put a picture in my head of what the would do because I have never looked at the headers to mid pipe to see even where the cat is at.

Baddog
I really suck with exhausts I have yet to look into them very deeply. Do you have a link? And would it be removing the cats all together?

Zues Marine
idk about oregon, but you have to have cats in WA well one anyways... http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=hi+flow+cat+&_sacat=0&_dmpt=Race_Car_Parts&_odkw=hi+flow+cat+2.25&_osacat=0&bkBtn=&_trksid=p4978.m270.l1313
Baddog
So I would need to get a high flow cat to go after the headers? I could probably get away with no cats and then put one on when the time for emissions comes? Will exhaust shops even make a mid pipe to axle back with no cats. Zues Marine
noooo, they wouldnt even install my headers because the cats were too close.. anything to do with the cats is most likely a no-go.. unless you find a shop that isnt state certified, they may do it you dont neeeeeed a hi flow cat, you could just stay stock
Baddog
So what would I have them do with the cat? Buy a mid pipe and have them weld the cat on there? How did you get your headers installed then?
