Sound Deadening

I'm currently in the process of soundproofing my wagon... Most of the stock deadener in my '05 is pretty rock hard now. No idea what the density was originally, nor whether it was more malleable to begin with.

I've seen three different types of deadener in the vehicle.

On the doors and in the spare tire well, there were fabric backed type of stick on squares/rectangles.

On the front of the rear wheel wells were foil-backed rectangles, very similar to dynamat/b-quiet ultimate (which I am using).

On the floorpan, I found dark pads that are pretty hard to the touch over much of the floor area and on the front of the rear seat bench.

Again, no idea what the density is.

CDN, are you documenting your install?

I'd LOVE to do my 09 wagon and quiet it down as much as possible.

I created a thread when I did the doors, here:

I just finished the balance (floorpan) tonight. Not as many pics but I'll add them to that thread soon with my findings after driving it tomorrow... Hope it was worth the work - I had my car interior apart for over a week... :spin:
