daboblin
I just completed a successful install of the FSL-21. I didn't experience any problems at all removing the trim and factory stereo. I found the trim removal instructions here (for a US mod) very handy. My MY06 Outback has a GX-203KH stereo in it which is not explicitly mentioned on the FSL-21 page but when I emailed, Norio assured me that it would work. It does indeed work, and works well. I already had the iSimple Tranzit FM modulator installed (incredibly disappointing), and I was able to use its cable, which has an iPod/iPhone dock connector at one end and power + 2 RCA jacks at the other. I just unplugged the RCA jacks from the Tranzit and plugged them into the FSL-21. The audio quality is just great, indistinguishable to my ears from the factory CD, and the level is also exactly right and matches the CD level.
