NSFW
This was in the box with my new Racingbrake rotors: http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z151/Legacy_NSFW/Brakes/RotorRotation.jpg Is it just me, or does the rotation look backward? The vanes inside the rotors are straight. The texture on the rotor surface looks the same either direction. I don't see anything about the construction of the rotor that suggests it would matter which way the slots are oriented. So I think I'm going to mount them backward. Here's your chance to talk me out of it... Why would it matter? What should I look for, in the rotors themselves, that would indicate why it matters which side they're installed on? JoeFromPA
It's not the external grooves that matter, it's the internal vanes. If the manufacturer says to mount them a certain way, follow that way. Don'tfollow the external vanes as a general guideline. Their orientation is fairly meaningless.
Ridgeracer
Agreed^....also if it helps my StopTechs shows the same orientation against the external grooves too... "Gimme mines Balboa...Gimme mines".....Clubber Lang - Mr. T

Th3Franz
Generally for straight vane rotors, the inside of the slot should be first to pass across the pad... -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
NSFW
I was going to ask RB this question via email, but it turns out that they have a forum, and they already have a thread about this. So, I asked there: http://forums.racingbrake.com/showthread.php?t=
NSFW
Racingbrake approves my plans. Turns out (pun intended) that it only really matters for their curved-vane discs. http://forums.racingbrake.com/showpost.php?p=1838&postcount=
