kramm
I've had my Legacy 3.0R for about 8 months and while I do love the car, after spending so much time on this forum I want to be able to mod. I was curious looking on cars.com and found an 07 GT with 17,000 miles. Mine has about 9,000 so I'm wondering if I'd be able to do an even trade? http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;jsessionid=GD8Ty805jGonKNlmSVGuTC_?tab=summary&paId=346090000&recnum=&actLog=&listingId=40070560&paId=346090000&listingRecNum=9&criteria=sf1Dir%3dASC%26alMdId%3d21378%26mkId%3d20041%26stkTyp%3dU%26mdId%3d21378%26kwm%3dANY%26rd%3d500%26crSrtFlds%3dstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-kw%26zc%3d60115%26rn%3d0%26PMmt%3d1-1-0%26stkTypId%3d28881%26sf2Dir%3dDESC%26sf1Nm%3dmiles%26kw%3dGT%26sf2Nm%3dprice%26alMkId%3d20041%26rpp%3d250%26feedSegId%3d28705&tracktype=usedcc&pageNumber=&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE&certifiedOnly=false&aff=national
Scooter
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! It's too late for us, but you can still save yourself!! haha, j/k If you have the funds and the desire then go for it. Just understand that modding cars is a seriously lousy way to use your hard-earned money, in the grand scheme of things. Start a Roth IRA instead and thank me in 40 years. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. In other words: SEARCH before you post!

If you dump a bunch into the suspension of the 3.0 you will start to wish it was a T to mess with too... Just my 2cents
joeblow
Do whatever makes you happy. If you have the funds and won't be upside down on the loan, then go right the f ahead and get yourself a turbo and mod the crap out of it. It's cool; I'm with the band
katalyst
you can still mod, just more of a different route but a lot of ways to burn money still brakes, suspension components, wheels, tires
Connect4
At least get a "Manual" not an "Auto". I got an "Auto" because of my wife, not a good driver, but a great wife. She let me get a turbo.

Well that's what I'm thinking, if I can get them to lower the price to around $18,500 or so, and then get $22,000 for my trade in I'd be able to get to a stage 2. BruceBruce
you would only need under 1000 to get to stg 2 lol.
brilliant sleeper
he wants a real mean stage 2:rolleyes: Seriously, though the GT sounds like the better one for you. If you want to mod a Legacy, then the turbo model would be the way to go. Like other's said, do what makes you happier. Whether it is an R or GT. You know your financial situation, so if you can afford to, then do eeet!
kramm
E-mailed a trade in appraisal to the dealership and received a phone call within 45 minutes. The guy couldn't really give me a good value, but the KBB trade in value of my car is $22,275 in excellent condition. If they can drop their original price I'm probably going to go for it. Anyone see this as a bad decision considering: I have 2 years and 4 months left on my factory warranty, I've maintained my car just fine or any other things I should consider? joeblow
You could try a private sale and get more money for it. With 2 years factory warranty and good condition with maintenance records, i bet you could get more that the $23k trade value. Then take that money and pick up a mid-mileage 07 for $19 or $20k and use the difference to pay for your stage 2. EvoFire
You know what, swap in a 6sp manual. Turbo that sucker later on down the road, kick any GT's butt on the road! Plus, I think 6 cyl engines almost always sound better anyways
SUBACHEVROMAN
lol..you do what you want guy, but i think you are better off with your v-6..theres still plenty of stuff you can do with your car..just my two cents..
rao
Who knew they even had Subarus in DeKalb? Good luck. If you need a hand with Stage 2 or beyond, let me know. If you really want to swap a manual into your car, then really let me know Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
fishbone
Opie, I say take a break from this forum for a month. Don't set foot here AT ALL and see if you feel the same way about trading in. If you do, go for it.

The site looks plain and ugly but is actually a wonderful resource. Subaru does NOT make V-6's and never will.
