socalsleeper
Hey SoCal, I might need a hand assisting another member in "fixing"" a botched Koni insert install on an LGT wagon. You down for assisting? I have already broken things down and diagnosed the problem. Just have some ideas on how to fix it. Great to see everybody (again for many). First time I saw Bryan make a meet and it was the farthest from home, for him, lol. I could not resist. After marveling at how B E A Utiful race engines are (I miss racing sooooooooooooooooo much) and how easy it is to get to everything, how well thought out piping paths and lines are, I could not resist. The A/C is still in, but that damn air pump and all the tubing, piping and solenoids that go with it are on the ground. I need two block off plates and some dremel work. I am going to hack the atmospheric sensor out of the solenoid housing and find a new home for it. Then use CEL deletes (in tune) to get rid of the rest. Works for a Crawford race engine, works for me. Sure Im up for it. My problem is time.... I am very busy right now shoot me a PM and we'l se if timin work out to hook up.. As a matter of fact I had someone ask me to do a Koni insert install a while ago and never heard back form the guy...??? Same car??? doesn't matter.. Sure just let me know when... m sprank
Might have been the same car. He used to have work done by Jose. He got screwed this time. By a "pro" shop. Still debating yanking the A/C and heater. Anyone think its worth ditching creature comforts for a "full race" set up? I might be a little too over the top with this one. Infamous1
Don't yank the AC and heater, not worth it yet at this point. Especially with 4 10's in the trunk.

m sprank
I figured out the Koni job. LOL. The parts I was concerned about do need to be saved. They are part of the botched install and the shop that did the work knew they screwed up. They tried to rig a fix. I have now been able to determine what everything is and how it should be together. I just need to cut off the ring (rig job) with my dremel. Then get a new set of blown front struts, use my pipe cutter to cut them properly and reinstall for the member. I just cringe thinking about all the crappy work being done by so called "pro" shops out there. EDO Performance raped this guy (Mark) and almost destroyed his front end. Oh and Shamar, the A/C and heater are still intact. But I am seriously considering ditching the heater. I have heated seats too, lol.

I just don't see the purpose to ditch luxury items, especially if your not going with a full weight reduction.

m sprank
Ummm. Chocolate coolant. Drool. Got my 225amp alternator installed today. Had to grind the ever loving sh*t out of the OEM mount to make it fit, lol.

m sprank
Why not? I can get you a custom glass enclosure. I had two 10's in mine. Used the buckets behind the seats as enclosures. Just glassed over them and whala! instant enclosure, no space taken. Vettes with bass are insane. Cabin is sooooo small so the pressure is intense. Infamous1
There is no buckets behind my seats, just a beam. Coming from a guy who owned three different cars rocking 2 15's, I think it may be a bit much Bryan I are supposed to be installing one on saturday. m sprank
My glass skills are not that good. I can do basic stuff and fix holes in cars, lol. But I have a very god friend who owns a shop. He does SEMA cars for many of the manufacturers. He is not a young kid and might have an employee do it (or he might do it himself, it is for me). But I am sure I can get you a smoking deal. Like much cheaper than you think. He built one for me to hold the two extra 10's and even painted it DGM. Cost less than $200.

He has been in many mags and done multiple Sema cars, he quoted me over $600 for a custom setup
