Guest LGT-NY
What do you mean "bogs out"? That term usually refers to being at too low an rmp, not too high...
Jimmy78
well before acessport i would mess around in snow and leave in a gear n bounce of rev limiter goin sideways or something but if i do that now theres no rev limiter the car jus dnt stay up there in rpms
urfsin
Sounds like the fuel cut to me. Slide It Sideways

Jimmy78
so how do u resolve this or fix this? so i can get a rev limiter back?
Guest LGT-NY
Ummm.... Shift? I don't think I've EVER hit my rev limiter....
carguyco
I think it might be a bad idea to hit the rev limiter too often....
John M
They may tune the AP for a softer rev limit than stock. They've probably got the throttle backing off as the limit approaches to go along with cutting fuel. They can also have it wait for the rpms to drop more before restoring power. That said, it's not a good idea to bounce off the rev limiter -- especially while sliding the car sideways in gear.
Leonardo
I have this problem and now, coming out of turns at the events when I shift I would touch the rev limiter once or twice between gears (only like once per event) and now I loose time as it hits fuel cut. Infamous1
Likely the cause is the rev limit fuel resume is set to low. If so the car will continue cutting fuel until the boost has decreased.

Leonardo
Would the "rev limit fuel resume" affect the Fuel Cut be it per RPM or Boost? I ask because my problem isn't boost.

John M
When you hit the rev limiter, the parameter Infamous talks about tells the ECU when to start the fuel again. Say you hit a limiter at 7000. The parameter can tell it to wait till rpms fall to 6800 before starting fuel again. That number can be set to anything so it's up to the tuner as to how long you'll wait without power. I bumped my limiter to 7150 just in case I was a bit slow on the shift and I've never hit it again.

So if you hit the limiter, fueling will not resume until the boost level is below the entered value.
f1anatic
Yeah guys but the OP doesn't even talk of where he is thinking the rev limiter should be. It was at 6500, with Stage 1 is at 7000. I am quite certain it is there, just raised.
John M
Sorry about that. When you said "rev limit fuel resume" I assumed you were speaking of the rev limit. Same principle applies though -- no power till the parameter falls below a specified value. Besides, I find it hard to believe anyone on a stock turbo could possibly be hitting high boost at redline in first!
Leonardo
Now we are confused! So lemme try this: If I hit rev limiter by accident, and the boost is safe, it will still wait for the boost to be below X amount? I ask because I know I'm not overboosting. bugblatterbeast
once you hit the rev limit fuel is cut. fuel resume happens after both 1) the engine speed is below the lower rev limit and 2) boost has fallen below the fuel resume boost pressure. even if you bring the fuel cut and fuel resume speeds close together, bumping the rev limiter will still be quite violent if the fuel resume boost pressure is low compared to the boost target at redline. Spoonwacker
I had my car do this with my Stg 2 map; for me it was an issue with the older AP firmware. I updated with Cobb, reflashed the car, and now I haven't had this problem. sorry...this forum practically blows goat nuts so im not always on here.Team Pony Express POSTED FROM MY COMPUTER USING A WEB BROWSER
Leonardo
Have tried several things and just noticed one thing, the "bog" happens at WOT and close to 6.8K but if I am not WOT, I get the regular Rev limiter higher in the band at the 7.2K or there abouts. Can't find anything in the tables that would cause this.
