awd Posted February 5, 2010 Author Share Posted February 5, 2010 I have an 08 2.5 Limited and it has an aluminum hood.. I thought I had read somewhere that by 2009 the cost of aluminum was on the rise and Subaru made the switch to a steel hood.. captainhook Posted February 5, 2010 Share Posted February 5, 2010 That's interesting, I have an 08 with the new front end and I know my hood is A TON lighter than my good friends 08 2.5i after going under both hoods. iyalla Posted February 6, 2010 Share Posted February 6, 2010 My 05 2.5i wagon has an aluminum hood and an aluminum rear tailgate (I know the rear is aluminum because I got rear ended). This was pretty much a leftover 09 when we got it as the lease deals were crazy cheap during the summer. so even the last bunches had aluminum hoods for 09.
