F-WDC Spec B Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 bro there like 10 other open threads on this... please search... and congrats on the new car... pics?
tbssubaru Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 i've had it on my GT wagon for 6+ months , love it , especially for the price
tbssubaru Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 i was under the car last week and the exhaust is rust free , i live in calif and don't have snow or salt to deal with though
F-WDC Spec B Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I have the mids n y. so far no rusting. but i clear coated them. I gave the cans to a friend n he painted them black.
m sprank Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Need some kind of protection in NYC. Even my SPT wasn't happy there, lol.
Vi3tguysoflyy91 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Its not too loud as you think, it'll provide you a nice rumble but running a normal dp probably won't compare to a WRX or STI. I had fitment issues with mine though running my stock dp at the time idk about the others. Did anybody else have this problem?
m sprank Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 No. You are special. Was the midpipe going the right direction? Some have tried to put it in backwards.
F-WDC Spec B Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 ^ i almost did. Update: looked under my car this morning and saw salt spots on my pipes n no rust.
05gtlimited300 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I have it. No rust, have had it for over 2 years. Lemme know if you wana check it out
integroid Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 i've had it on my GT wagon for 6+ months , love it , especially for the price Did you extend the tips or just leave as is? Can you post up pics fromt he rear?
eqt2010 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 If this is the same CBE as the XO2 one, the length of the tip is perfect for wagons.
integroid Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Does anyone with a wagon have pics of this exhaust installed?
tbssubaru Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 i have it on my wagon and did not extend the tips , it would be nice if they were an inch longer but not worth paying an exhaust shop to do it
tbssubaru Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 http://gallery.me.com/tim.stiles/100185/DSC_0580/web.jpg?ver=12621337980001 i wish i could get the XO2 centered better, anyone else have this issue ?
tbssubaru Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 XO2 tip length on a 2005 wagon http://gallery.me.com/tim.stiles/100185/DSC_0581/web.jpg?ver=12621337990001 http://gallery.me.com/tim.stiles/100185/DSC_0582/web.jpg?ver=12621337990001
m sprank Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Yup. They all hang that way. Mine are not as bad. You can try adjusting the hangers, but be careful not to break them. I would heat them with a propane torch and bend them a bit if you want to get it perfect.
05gtlimited300 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 i centered mine (not perfect but way better). i will get a picture tomorrow for you guys
tbssubaru Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 after installing it myself i took it to an exhaust stop to see if they could improve the centering , they messed around with the hangers but couldn't get it right ... to nail it they said they would need to add length to the pipes that connect to the mufflers i'm still happy with the exhaust and the $500+ savings over anything else
m sprank Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Oh. Mine is much better out of the box. All cars have "acceptable" variance, and I am sure the CBE has some too. So, it could vary for everyone. But, the general concensus is that on all cars the CBE is slightly off center of the cut outs (to the inside). Yes a small sacrifice for the $500+ in savings.
