TPLGT
Tip: walk down the stairs backwards. I ran 2 marathons. Hardest thing I had ever done. Rehab is for quitters.
Naylor
great tip thanks! G, VFFs are Vibram Five Fingers. They're shoes that simulate running barfoot. They really helped me nail down a POSE style running gate.

c-lo
how are the IT bands? Tip: if you've not purchased these yet GET THEM. They rock. I use them before my bike races: http://www.power-systems.com/p-3027-high-density-foam-rollers.aspx and http://www.power-systems.com/p-3509-big-stick.aspx I've found this one cheaper elsewhere. $50 is way too much. 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos
Stogie
i love my VFF's. how did you know that i have them? right now i can only run a 5k without my calves cramping. my next race i'm either going to do a 5 or 10k in my VFFs. you can run so much faster in them, It was just a guess. I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and ran 4.5 miles in them last week. First run was 2 miles on the mill with a mild blister but no blisters on the 4.5 mile run. I was running BF on the mill for up to 3.5 miles prior to the VFF's. Love the shoes but I run much slower than regular running shoes. Sorry to hear about you IT issues on your run but congrats on your finish...
Beanboy
Jebus, 26 miles no way, 50 is just crazy. Congrats! Prefer speed over distance. -B http://www.standardshift.com
Naylor
thanks guys. ITs are healing well. I'm walking around now without limping. I've been doing my stretches, ice and foam roller (that thing will put you in tears!). stogie, you sound like you're a pretty experienced runner. i'm just really getting into running/trail running and for whatever reason a 50 miler sounded fun...trained for 2, maybe 2.5 months before the race. i've been doing strictly crossfit or some type of crossfit for about 3 years now. fell in love with running trails, while training and can't wait to get back out there.
