Thule Rack HELP!

when you carry 4 boards do you take the bindings off the bottom 2? I'm thinking about getting a rack but worried about other peoples gear scratching up my roof

The thule provides just enough clearance, you just fold the bindings up, and put the straps together. Its close, but it fits without any problems

Fresh!

I wonder if these things will hold a compact ladder when I am not using em for my bikes. Do you think they can hold 50 lbs in weight on the road (stopping and going)?

I don't see why not. They are rated at 75kg from memory.

Another photo of the Prorack, with a Thule 591 (Sweden made model, not the crappy American one) bike carrier:

I've compared the Thule Sweden and USA products. Sorry to say, you guys are unfortunate! :)

sorry for the bump, but I'm torn between the thule aero bars and the prorack whispbar... does the whispbar have enough clearance to sandwich two snowboards together without the bottom board's binding hitting the roof?

Any opinions from the folks is appreciative
