Imrac
Have you guys checked this out? http://www.groupa.ca/PR_supercharger.html What do you think? Not bad, but it wont be on our cars any time soon: Right now the kits will only fit a MAP based 2.x NA Subaru engine. MAF based kits will be ready next followed by the kits that will fit the newer 2.5i engines.
ScoopMan
5HP is enough to move 40,000CFM Going to have to check my old engineering notes to verify that. If it's true then maybe a hairdryer might work after all
mwiener2
Have you guys checked this out? http://www.groupa.ca/PR_supercharger.html What do you think? again... that's a BELT driven SC. Going to have to check my old engineering notes to verify that. If it's true then maybe a hairdryer might work after all I know it's true because I just installed a 40,000 CFM fan with a 5HP motor attached to it. Granted it's only rated for 40,000 with no static pressure My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
05lgt5spd
It would be cool to see it happen. Turbo would be a thing of the past!
mwiener2
This would never replace a turbo. It's far to inefficient. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
ScoopMan
I know it's true because I just installed a 40,000 CFM fan with a 5HP motor attached to it. Granted it's only rated for 40,000 with no static pressure Well a 1.2 liter motor spinning at 6000 rpm translates to 7200 l/m or 254 cfm does it not? So at a pressure ratio of 1.5 that means 381 cfm right? Still need to figure how that translates into hp. Someone who actually knows what they are talking about, feel free to step in.... Richard_Mtl
I emailed Groupa to find out a bit more about their SC solution. Dude told me that they would be dynoing this week and posting vids, results to their site this weekend. He said that boost was around 1.5psi and that it would beat a stock WRX.
