rosscarlson
Guys, Not sure if this is the right forum, if not please forgive me. I'm just coming up on 6k miles and will be doing some fluid changing. Obviously I'll be doing oil/filter but I'm wondering what other fluids I should consider changing out. I've run about 600 track miles so far and have another 200 or so left this season. I change my brake fluid regularly (Motul Super Blue) so I'm all set there. What others? Transmission? Differential? Thanks for any input! -Ross
rao
If you do track it a lot, I would change everything. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
rosscarlson
That's sorta what I'm thinking - but I must admit I'm not much of a mechanic! What fluids would I change? Brakes, transmission, diff, engine oil - but what else?
rao
Coolant Transmission Rear Differential Brake Fluid Clutch Fluid (same as brake fluid, but don't skip it) Power Steering Fluid None of them are too difficult to change. It stays cooler than most fuilds for a longer time. Subaru Race teams use it .. its expensive compared to most. But I wanted the Best in my car against the BMWs & Mustangs @ Buttonwillow Raceway. Since than I use it all the time !!!
rosscarlson
Thanks Bones, I use Motul for my brake fluid already but am slightly partial to Mobile 1 synthetic motor oil (as I ran that in my 350z). I'll certainly look at the others though, I assume there are walk troughs around for the procedures?

Do a search & You'll see want I mean. I m a big fan as well of Mobil 1, but I have heard of engine trouble in the Boxers from WRX's Guys to Legacy's. Thats why I do Motul only but there are ours the go with Castoral, ask about Oils on the Forums its a hot topic.
