If you have an 05-06, you can get away with a used tactrix 1.3 cable or a vag com cable for cheaper if you can find one.

If you have an 07-09 you'll need the tactrix 2.0 cable. You can also use this cable for 05 and 06. It can be found here: http://www.tactrix.com/product_info.php?products_id=49&osCsid=cc770dc978fbf8074e565919bb047e56

Ecuflash is the application you will use to read your cars rom and write updated roms to your car. It can be found here: http://openecu.org/index.php?title=EcuFlash

Romraider, allows you to tweak your rom as well as datalog your car, and it can be found here: http://www.romraider.com/RomRaider/Download

That's the correct cable. You'll also need a laptop with ECUFlash installed on it. You plug the tactrix dongle (the larger clear plastic square thing in the picture) into the OBDII port in your car and connect the USB cable from the back of the dongle to your laptop. Then you use the ECUFlash program to reflash your ECU. You will also need to install Romraider on your laptop so you can do some datalogging for infamous so he can tweak your map.

If you're getting a tune from infamous you'll need to get romraider going to do some logging for him. When you open romraider, point it to the definition file. If you have to do this everytime you open romraider, then you might be using Vista, in which case you'll want to run romraider as administrator and then point it to the definition file.

Sorry to jack the thread but I am having the same problem with the computer not recognizing the ECU.

Do I have to get the Tactrix Cable or can be done via AP Dongle that it comes with?

BTW, I have 08 Spec B.
