FYI guys, a few friends of mine and I are heading to HPR Friday afternoon for a half day session. I'm leaving Boulder around 11:30 and hope to be at the track sometime around 1 p.m.

If anyone wants to get a little experience before Saturday this is a great way...

Grocery getter, squiden, ross?

What was it like having at least 3 dry sessions at the track?

I know I definitely liked the new tires I had on the 240. I always used street tires at the track. Now I just need to upgrade brake pads to catch up to the tires.

Oh I had a phucking blast. It was really great getting to do some instructing for Squiden and Grocery Getter's better half. They both did rather well, Squiden took to it very very quickly. It was great seeing the difference in his first to last laps with me. Great progress - all of which I attest to my expert instruction! :-)

Squiden - if that wasn't enough for you (and let's not kid, is it ever?) come join us in Pueblo for the BMW club event, here are the details

It's a great way to really learn a lot about car control and on track driving. High levels of instruction and coaching, a great way to get started. Plus it would be nice having 3 Spec.B's at the track again - damn we should have gotten some pictures!

I had an absolute blast out there! I don't know if I can get the new brakes installed before October 3rd for the BMW event, but I'll see what I can do.

Darrel - Looks like only a couple people have posted their pics so far - if you see more (I really want some pics from the rainy lap!), please let me know. :)

Ross - Were you able to get the oil leak fixed?

GG - What was the resolution on the SRT8?

Haven't had time to look at it yet, wound up doing other errands today. Am hoping to get it up tomorrow night to have a look. From what I can see so far I'm guessing its just a leaky gasket and that it'll be an fairly easy fix.

Yeah GG, what's the dealio man? Any issue with the Spec.B too, she mentioned there was a loud clunk in the gearbox?

Hey guys sorry for the dely, was watching the bears lose to the Packers. Great track, great event and lots of fun. Thanks to the Z club for putting on a great event.

Here's the dealio...

The Leggy is fine no issues...the wifey was just a bit nervous running the last session I believe.

The SRT8 was leaking transmission fluid after the 20 minute session a bit to much for me so I drove the beast to my SRT8 mechanic in Castle Rock. When I arrrived the leak was pretty gone but I left it for him to look at. He mentioned that when you push the car as hard as I did (turns and elevation changes) the fluid tends to expand and I believe my have leaked out of the seals?? Anyway he is looking at it...if anything is wrong he will process it under the warranty ;).

A couple of things abut the day....

1) HPR is a FAST track...great fun

2) I need MORE seat time at HPR before I can even push it hard

3) Ross owes that track (I'll post the the vid of turn 13 later this week)

4) I know you CAN kick out the tail end of at 4700 lbs (so called AWD) SUV on turn 6 and save it!

5) I'll be back with the SRT8 next session!

6) The Z club puts on a great event

Thanks again guys...sorry we didn't take as many pics this time because both of us were driving in the same class.

I sent an email to Dave. I haven't heard back yet. I'm sure they're still processing them.

Susan and max took some pics, but I think she put them all up on the conoc link.

The z club has put these track events on since '89. We have a small showing but thast's what great about it. You have plenty fo track, no traffic to speak of and everyone goes home at the end of the day tired and smiling.

Hopefully we can keep up the numbers so we can at least break even.

Welcome to the club!.

If you mean a track event, it will probably be mid may to mid June. CAMA hopes to have the schedule finalized by the middle of October.

The second track event will probably be about the same time as this years, the weekend following labor day.

You'll be getting our newsletter in email after they process the registration.

Did you put my name down as a referral? ;-)

We have a pretty good discount lidt, like sears and elite auto glass, and you don't have to have a z to enjoy the discounts.

Here are a couple shots of Ross's car. Nothing fancy (clearly I need to work on my high-speed object photography), but figured they are fun none-the-less. If you want the full-res version of any of these, just let me know. Personnally, I like the one where you are chasing the Viper, with the lotus and Nismo behind you. ;-)

I got some of the other cars, but none of the SRT8 or your spec B. I forgot my camera on the first set of corner work, and you and your wife had left by my second shift. Sorry! However, with the number of cameras I saw out there, someone HAD to get pictures at some point.

You missed out on a lot of fun toward the end - a pretty decent rain posed no issues for the AWD cars.

Speaking of - how bad was the interior after the rain, Ross?

And I'm chasing the other white 240, it was his turn to lead.
