Clutch Upgrade

Far as I know, it should be a Spec B Clutch unless Fred Beans know something about the difference between the 5MT and the 6MT.

I was told by my tuner that the Spec B clutch should be slightly bigger.

I can check the Box for you when I return to the US if you need it.

As for the LWFL, I believe mine is for the STi.

If you don't mind, I would like that. The reason is that I ordered the ACT spec.B clutch, but when my installer when to put it all together, he noticed that the kit would not mate up with the flywheel. The kit (SB6) was completely wrong for the transmission. I'm trying to figure out if it was just mispackaged or whether what ACT calls a spec.B clutch is just simply wrong.

Here is the picture of the Label.

I hope this helps.

This was about the only label I found...well while jet lagged.

Let me know if you need more info.

BTW, I have 2008 Spec B

I see Clutch Masters doesn't offer a LGT specific clutch but they do offer an 06+ WRX unit. In theory, this should work on our cars, correct? And does anyone have any first hand experience with them? I've heard nothing but positives about them in the past.

I heard about someone that used a wrx flywheel and clutch on their 5spd 05 LGT, they did have to use a wrx clutch fork with it as well, but as far as I can remember that is all they had to do.

If I pass you on the right, I'm flipping you off.

That does help. So for the spec.B, the only one I've heard folks use (successfully) is the STi pressure plate.

Thanks!

The only real mystery is which clutch to use with spec.Bs. ACT has their act together w.r.t. all the 5 speeds. It's the 6 speeds that have run into confusion (OK, it was just me) because ACT has labeled some clutch kits for use specifically with 07+ spec.Bs, and mine was clearly not going to work for the 6MT. So I'm going to have to eat my installation $ on the first one and get the STi kit in exchange.
